Volunteering to Employment
This is an evolving page contains useful information, resources and links for those interested in volunteering into employment (or volunteer to career). Please let us know if it you would like further information on this page.
Wrap-around Support (Employability)
CLICK HERE to access the free Wrap-around Support document, designed to support people across North Central London (NCL) who are looking to move from volunteering in the health or social care sectors, into employment.
The document is split by borough to enable you to easily find the support available to you. Support could include employment services (such as help with writing a CV or interview practice), or where to buy a low-cost smart outfit for an interview, through to digital support or accessing mental health support – it varies from borough to borough.
We have done our best to make this list as comprehensive as possible, but if you think you would benefit from ‘volunteering into employment’ support that you cannot see listed, please get in touch with your local Volunteer Centre, or your Local Council to find out if that support is available. Similarly, if you discover a helpful service that is not listed here, please let us know so that we can include it and enable others to benefit.
If any information is incorrect/out-of-date, please let us know.
Employers' Charter (Volunteering into Employment)
[Consultation Phase]
CLICK HERE to download our FREE TO USE Charter for Employers who wish to demonstrate their credentials in helping their volunteers who are looking for employment. We are currently consulting with stakeholders before announcing its official launch.
About the Charter
Charter has been created after engaging with a wide range of stakeholders:
- Enabling volunteers to progress to meaningful employment (within or outside NHS)
- Recognises that volunteers bring valuable experience and skills that strengthen the workfoces and improve quality of care provided
- Strengthen the NHS Workforce
- Supports community participation
- Demonstrates to ICB that the employer involves and supports volunteers well as well as supporting wider challenges of the NHS (i.e. helps them to be commissioned)
- If employers not able or ready to commit then Volunteering Together 4 Health can help support them
If you have any feedback on the Charter or would like to find out more, please get in touch.
